You can wreak havoc on the body if you don’t keep working on your mobility, especially as
you get older. It is an important component to fitness but often pushed into the background. We constantly focus on just losing weight, building more muscle and running faster, and in doing so we underemphasise the importance of mobility. Mobility is about
finding optimal movement patterns for the individual. A person with great mobility is able to perform functional movement patterns with no restriction in the range of motion of those
movements. A flexible person may not have the core strength, balance or coordination to perform the same movements as the person with great mobility.
We test strength, endurance and power but mobility is a foundation point for almost all of our training.
