The scintillating event has so far registered 286 gymnast participants from 21 countries and has opened entries for further participation.

Pioneering the idea of introducing Rhythmic Gymnastics from recreational to a sports event of international level; DuGym Rhythmic Gymnastics (RG),UAE’s first club of its sort, is all set to host the second edition of International RhythmicGymnastics Competition in association with Dubai Sports Council (DSC).

The 2nd Dubai International Rhythmic Gymnastics – DuGym Cup 2017, will be held from 7th to 9th December at the Al Manara Sports Hall and is inviting Rhythmic Gymnast participants from across the world for participation.

With competitions to be held at an individual and group level; participants will have varied options in skill display that include Free Hand, Rope, Ball, Hoop; as well as styles of their choice. The event is all set to raise benchmarks in the international field of Rhythmic Gymnastics as DuGym Cup 2017 will have the legendary Evgenia Kanaeva, the only individual rhythmic gymnast in history to win two Olympic all-around gold medals, winning at the 2008 Beijing and 2012 London Olympic Games. She also has to her credit, 17 times World Champion title and 13 times European Championship; which makes her a world class gymnast like no other.

Speaking about the competition, director and head coach of DuGym RG, Angel Ilgaz said;“Rhythmic Gymnastics is an aesthetic amalgamation of sports and art. An Olympic sport of international stature, we at DuGym RG thought that it was essential to create a platform where not just our home-groomed gymnasts but participants from world over would be able to display their competitive form. The debut chapter of this event witnessed stupendous success. To keep the momentum going; this year’s competition will be organised at a grander level with world renowned panel of judges and an increase in number of international participants.”

This year’s Rhythmic Gymnast participants will also be privileged with a Master Class to be
held on 10-11 December, by Elena Karpushenko – personal coach of three-time World all
round champion and World record holder Yana Kudryavtseva. In addition to this, a special Master Class will be arranged with Salome Pazhava – all round bronze medallist at the FIGWorld Cup series, in 2016.

With greater motivation and best practices, the International Rhythmic Gymnastics
