XDubai challenges women to defy their limits at region’s first women-only Spartan Race

  • First ever women-only Spartan Race to be held on 16th December 2017 at Jebel Ali Race Course
  • Event to be open to women participants only, but all welcome to spectate
  • Only 1000 tickets available

XDubai, together with Spartan Arabia, are today formally announcing the first-ever women-only Spartan Race to be held in the Middle East and North African region. Taking place on Saturday, 16th December at Dubai’s Jebel Ali Race Course, the XDubai Spartan Race Presented by Dubai Holding women-only race is expected to attract women from across the region for what will be a 5+km, (20+ obstacle) open Sprint race.

With only 1000 tickets available and designed to inspire and empower, the race is exclusively open for female participants with a fun and interactive race festival open to all to cheer on the mothers, wives, friends and colleagues that will be competing in the race.

“The popularity of the Spartan series has been growing exponentially across the region, particularly among women,” said Mohammed Javad, General Manager of XDubai.  “This women-only Spartan Sprint builds upon that growing popularity as it encourages even more women to participate through an event designed especially for them.”

Organised by Spartan Arabia and supported under a partnership between XDubai and Dubai Holding – a partnership that was announced earlier this year, the event is just an example of one of the many events that can be expected in 2018, and beyond.

Edris Al Rafi, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Holding, commented: “Dubai Holding has a long-held commitment to inspiring and encouraging women to lead healthier lifestyles. Our aim is to create a community of active women, where sport and fitness is a part of everyday life. This race is a perfect example of what is possible through like-minded partnerships, and we are proud to play a key role in bringing this unique event – which will be a regional first – to the women of the UAE and beyond.”

Open to women aged 15 and up, the event will take place at Jebel Ali Race Course, the site of 2 past Spartan Races. With the first heat of the day expected to start at 9am, the event will be a 5+km Open Sprint race that features over 20 signature Spartan obstacles as it also uses the natural soft sand-setting of the Jebel Ali Race Course to challenge all racers.

With registration open now online through www.SpartanArabia.com and only 1000 tickets available, organisers are encouraging all interested women to register as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
