Football great Luís Figo will be joining 2,500 yogis at Kite Beach on Friday (February 1, 2019) to kick off the third-edition of XYoga Dubai Festival, presented by Dubai Holding. The early-morning session will launch the two-day festival – the region’s largest – which will see more than 15,000 yogis of all ages and abilities converge at the festival village for two full days of more than 63 complimentary classes, running from sunrise to sundown.
Regarded as one of the greatest footballers of his generation, Luís Figo has had a storied career playing for Sporting CP, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Inter Milan. He built up a reputation for his collaborative play and leadership skills on the pitch, winning the 2000 Ballon d’Or, 2001 FIFA World Player of the Year, and in 2004, Pelé named him in the FIFA 100 list of the world’s greatest living players. Over the years, Figo has consistently embraced and advocated fitness and mindfulness. On the opening day of XYoga Dubai Festival, presented by Dubai Holding, Figo will join Indian yogi Deepika Mehta and actress Nargis Fakhri to lead the 2,500-strong community in the first session.
